The Relay for Life of Ashland County-Mid Ohio will be Saturday, July 31 from 4:00pm to 10:00pm, at the Ashland County Fairgrounds.
This annual event raises money for the American Cancer Society to fight cancer. The Survivor Ceremony kicks off the event at 4:00 pm. The Ashland County K-9 Unit will have a demo at 5:00 pm & a Med Flight helicopter will be landing at 7:00 pm. Laps of Love for the children will be immediately following the Med Flight. The Luminary ceremony honoring & remembering our loved ones is at 9:00pm. This will include a video of those who have lost the battle & those still fighting. The public is welcome to submit pictures for the video. Email picture, name of person and if it is “In Memory” or In Honor” to relayforlifeluminaria@gmail.com(deadline is July 24). The ceremony will wrap up this year's Relay For Life. There are many other events and activities also planned during the 6 hour relay. There will be a dessert & silent auctions, Touch-A-Truck, poker run, frozen T-shirt contest. There will also be food and other fundraisers.
