Watermelon. It's one of my favorite treats! If it's on the buffet, the picnic table, cubed into a bowl of fruits it doesn't matter. I'm grabbing some watermelon. It's my favorite of the melons. I'll pick watermelon every time over musk melon, cantaloupe, Honeydew, Casaba or Crenshaw. It's as satisfying for dessert as cake, pie or ice cream. It's a staple on a summer menu for me. With today being National Watermelon Day I think it's the perfect occasion to learn more about this fabulous fruit. - Matt Appleby

Watermelon is sweet, refreshing, delicious, and a perfect fruit to accompany a hot summer day. But how much do you really know about it? Well, since it is National Watermelon Day today let's take a deeper dive into Watermelon.
