METRICH Drug Trafficking Arrest

On March 19, 2019 the METRICH Enforcement Unit closed out a short term drug trafficking investigation with the arrest of an individual from Cleveland, Ohio who was staying in the Mansfield, Ohio area.

With assistance from the Mansfield Division of Police, METRICH detectives arrested and charged Anthony M. White with two (2) counts of Trafficking in Heroin and two (2) counts of Trafficking in Fentanyl. During the arrest, METRICH detectives seized approximately 6 grams of suspected crack cocaine, over 30 unit doses of prescription medication and $1,342.00 in U.S. currency. Anthony M. White was incarcerated at the Richland County Jail pending his initial appearance in court.

METRICH Commander Lt. Joseph D. Petrycki stated “During the investigation and after analysis of the seized evidence, the Mansfield Division of Police, Forensic Science Section notified METRICH detectives the suspected heroin was actually fentanyl. Due to the fact the lab testing showed it was fentanyl, METRICH detectives made it a top priority to get him incarcerated as soon as possible. The METRICH

Enforcement Unit will continue to target those individuals that sell drugs, especially fentanyl in Richland County.”
