Shelby Board of Education Takes No Action Against Officer Swisher

The Shelby Board of Education on Tuesday, conducted a special meeting to discuss what kind of action to take about Shelby officer Keith Swisher, whose status as a coach of the Girls Soccer team and School Resource Officer was being reviewed. According to richlandsource.com, Swisher reportedly walked through a girls' locker room with students present. Swisher was put on administrative leave on October 8th. The board allowed 30 minutes of public comment overwhelmingly in favor of reinstating Swisher as the school resource officer and girls' soccer coach, before they met in executive session. No action is being taken at this time, the next scheduled meeting of the Shelby BOE is Monday, Oct. 28 at Shelby High School.
