April 1, 2021 - Mansfield, OH - Richland Academy of the Arts will be presenting their 2021 RADE show on April 17 and 18 at 7:30 pm. RADE is one of the Academy’s pre-professional dance groups, where members undergo hours of weekly training to enhance their skills and improve technique. This year’s performance will feature an array of dance styles, including Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, and Classical Ballet.
This year the Academy is celebrating 4 high school seniors: Maria Gallo, Ontario HS; Audrey Mentzer, Lexington HS; Chloe Walker, Madison HS; and Irene Zhang, Ontario HS. In this program, attendees will enjoy dances to Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring and Rodeo choreographed by Sarah Horrigan-Ramos as well as dances to Gumbie Cat from “Cats the Broadway Musical” choreographed by Erin Wolford. Senior level dancers will also be presenting multiple pieces by Marden Ramos, who choreographs a neo-classical style that pushes dancers to perform at their highest ability.
Many of the Academy’s dance company alumni have gone on to study dance in college, perform in various dance companies, and pursue a career in teaching dance. The Academy believes that their dance programs not only teach students proper technique but also mental and physical discipline, time management, problem solving, and performance skills.
Tickets for in-person and live-stream attendance for the April 17 and April 18 performances will be available beginning Tuesday, April 6 at 1:00 pm. Live-stream tickets are only available for the Saturday, April 17 performance. Tickets run $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, students, and Veterans, and $5 per device for live-stream access. Those who choose to attend in-person will be required to social distance, wear facial masks, and follow all of the Academy’s COVID-19 procedures.
