The 50-piece Concert Band of Local 159 of the American Federation of Musicians will play free outdoor concerts this summer. Four area performances are slated: Mansfield's South Park Pavilion (June 18 at 7:00 P.M.), Ashland’s Myers Bandshell (June 20 at 8:00 P.M.), Shelby’s Blackfork Commons Amphitheatre (June 23 at 7:00 P.M.) and downtown Crestline (July 1st at 7:00 P.M.). The band, under the direction of Steve Taylor, is made up of professional players from five area counties. Inspired by the Blues Brothers famous “puttin’ the band together again” enthusiasm, the concert will indeed open with several hit songs from that popular movie. The entire program will celebrate the return of live music with marches, Dixieland, Big Band hits, and a patriotic finale. Admission is free and open to the public, and more information is available at the A.F.M.'s website: http://www.afmlocal159.com/
