TMSG: Bikers Find Dog Trapped In 30-Foot Hole, Help Get Him To Safety

A group of mountain bikers were out on a North Carolina trail when they spotted a dog trapped 30 feet down in a sinkhole.

The group of bikers reached out to Burke County Search and Rescue and led the rescue group over a mile and a half to where the dog had fallen. The rescue group repelled into the sinkhole, and enticed the pup with some beef jerky into a harness that they were able to use to raise him to safety.

Thankfully, the dog wasn't injured, but very hungry and thirsty. The rescue group estimated the poor pup had been down there for several days. They took him back to Burke County Animal Services where he was dubbed "Sinker" as they try to figure out if the dog is a lost family member or going to be put up for adoption.
