Tim McGraw Shares Heartfelt Tribute To The Late Jerry Jeff Walker

Tim McGraw is mourning the death of songwriter Jerry Jeff Walker.

The country star turned to social media to remember Walker and his accomplishments throughout his career, sharing a recording of himself singing a few lines of his "She Knows Her Daddy Sings." Walker, who died on Friday (October 23) at the age of 78, wrote "She Knows Her Daddy Sings" for his then 4-year-old daughter, who was born in April 1978.

"This was one of the songs I used to play for my girls when they were little," McGraw wrote alongside the tribute. "Thinking back on those days today....and missing you, Jerry Jeff Walker. Thank you for the songs."

"She knows her daddy sings / We know all that the money brings / She thinks our world must be everything / Does she know, she's the precious thing," Walker's song goes.

At the end of the performance, McGraw calls Walker a "jewel in country music."

McGraw is just one of many artists and celebrities who have reflected on Walker's life following news that he lost his battle with cancer. Brooks & Dunn's Kix Brooks, remembered a time Walker helped him early on in his career.

"Lost my buddy @jerryjeffwalker last night! One of the great Lone Star bad a**es," Brooks wrote, adding, "Gave me a gig in the 70s when he was the king in my neck of the woods- Adios Amigo - tell @GuyClarkKCA I said hey- RIP."

Additionally Former President Bill Clinton, newsman Dan Rather, and Jason Isbell also remembered Walker on social media.
