Soggy Night In Ashland No Match For Sara Evans

A near capacity crowd was not going to let a little rain stop them from enjoying the first night of live music at the Ashland County Fair in two years. No, they showed up, dressed for the weather, ready for a night of hits from Country Music star Sara Evans. The Boonville, Missouri native, who herself just recently returned to touring, told WNCO's Matt Appleby that she and her band are "so grateful to be out on the road and grateful that the fans are coming out in droves. It's wonderful to be feeling a little bit back to normal." Evans, who was battling a slight head cold, did not sound any worse for the wear and was more than happy to continue with the show as long as the crowd didn't mind the foul weather.

The crowd was treated to a 90 minute show full of Evan's hits including "Suds in the Bucket", "Backseat of a Greyhound Bus", "A Little Bit Stronger", A Real Fine Place To Start", "No Place That Far" plus her signature song, and title of her recently released memoir, "Born To Fly".

Evans' set list also included some amazing covers from her 2020 cd "Copy That". Evans, a fan of traditional Country Music performed the Patsy Cline classic "She's Got You". She closed the show with the Bee Gees/Yvonne Elliman Saturday Night Fever track "If I Can't Have You" and The Knack's rocker "My Sharona".
