Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood Are Taking Requests For Their Holiday Special

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are asking fans to join them in celebrating this holiday season! The country couple is returning to CBS on December 20 for a one-hour Christmas special titled, Garth & Trisha Live! A Holiday Concert Event.

Brooks and Yearwood will be performing seasonal songs "for viewers looking for the comfort and shared joy of music during the holidays," a press release states. The pair will also be taking requests from fans tuning in at home.

This will be the couple's second TV special this year following Garth and Trisha: Live By Request!, which aired in April when the pandemic first hit.

"Our viewers loved reaching out directly to Garth and Trisha to request their favorite hits back when the pandemic first hit. It brought some fun and joy directly into their living rooms as they were hunkered down with their families," Jack Sussman, executive vice president of Specials, Music & Live Events/Alternative & Reality at CBS, said in a press release. "Now, nine long months later, who better to bring some holiday magic, performing some of the greatest holiday songs of all time than Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood."

Brooks and Yearwood will film the holiday special from their home recording studio with a minimal crew practicing social distance and no live studio audience.

Fans can tune into Brooks' weekly Facebook Live show, Inside Studio G on Mondays leading up to the broadcast for more information on how to request songs.

News of the upcoming holiday special comes just ahead of the release date for Brooks' new album, Fun, due out on November 20. The new project will feature a total of 14 songs including Brooks' recent duet with Blake Shelton, and a cover of "Shallow" with Yearwood. Additionally, Brooks' Top 20 single from 2018, "All Day Long" and "Stronger Than Me," which he performed at the 2018 CMA Awards, are both on the album.
