Public Boating Education Course Offered

Wish to learn boating safety?
Sign up now for America's Boating Course (ABC). The course
meets the State of Ohio boating education requirements. This in-Â
person class is taught by a certified instructor of the Mansfield
Power Squadron and allows you to seek answers to your questions
while gaining knowledge of boating and boating safety.
The class will run Wednesdays for approximately 10 weeks,Â
starting September 14th from 7-9pm. The class is held atÂ
Madison Comprehensive High School, 600 Esley Lane,Â
Mansfield. Registration is made through the MadisonÂ

Topics covered include:
  - boating terms, boat types and their use
  - boating laws, regulations, registration, licensing
    (state and federal)
  - safety and safety equipment (required andÂ
    recommended)
  - finding your way safely, chartingÂ
  - boat handling, rules of the road, aids to navigationÂ
  - anchoring, docking, knots and linesÂ
  - trailering, towing, boat maintenanceÂ
  - communications, marine radioÂ
  - how to handle medical emergencies, mechanical
    problems, and more
