Jeff Cook of Alabama has announced he has Parkinson's and will no longer tour with the group.
He's had the disease for four years, but he and his bandmates Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry have kept his condition quiet.
Jeff Cook said "Let me say I'm not calling it quits. But sometimes our bodies dictate what we have to do and mine is telling me that it's time to take a break and heal."
Cook officially leaves at the end of the month but will join the band for a few scheduled shows. He also says he'll show up on stage every once in a while when he's feeling up to it. Randy says there will always be a mic on stage for Jeff whenever he and Teddy perform. (Tennessean)
