Today we salute a man known as John Chapman. aka Johnny Appleseed. Born in 1774, Chapman was an American pioneer nurseryman who planted apple seeds in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Illinois, as well parts of what is now West Virginia. The legendary nurseryman is said to have traveled through the Mid Ohio area. The story of Johnny Appleseed lives on in books and movies as well as Festivals , business and more that bare his name.
