MANSFIELD SYMPHONY ANNOUNCES NEW YOUTH STRINGS CONDUCTOR

The Renaissance Performing Arts Association and Mansfield Symphony Orchestra are pleased to announce the recent appointment of its new Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings Conductor, Anthony Springer.

Anthony Springer is the orchestra director at Mount Vernon City Schools and has over fifteen years of string education experience. He holds a Master of Music Education from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Music Education from The College of Wooster. His orchestras and chamber ensembles in Mount Vernon consistently receive top ratings at OMEA Adjudicated Events.

Mr. Springer is an active cellist and studied under Jane Katsuyama of the Dayton Philharmonic and Madalena Burle Marx of the Akron Symphony. He has performed with several orchestras including the Tuscarawas Philharmonic, Hamilton-Fairfield Symphony Orchestra, Lebanon Symphony Orchestra, Knox County Symphony, Clermont Philharmonic, and the Wooster Symphony Orchestra. He also performs with his string quartet and churches around Mount Vernon.

Mr. Springer is a professional member of the Ohio String Teachers Association and the Ohio Music Education Association. He has been a string adjudicator for five years and serves as treasurer for the OMEA region.
