Nashville Songwriter To Perform In Ashland

Backed by former members of Gringo Stew, one of the region's premier original country/Americana bands, Terry Clayton will be showcasing some of his songs Thursday evening at the Guy C. Myers Bandshell in Ashland. Clayton spent nearly two decades as a Nashville staff songwriter with Sony/Tree, Warner/Chappel, New Clarion, and Smith Haven publishing companies. Clayton has written songs that have been recorded by Jason Aldean, Terri Clark, Charley Pride, Doug Stone, Gene Watson and others. Not only will Clayton be performing his songs and in true Nashville "songwriter circle" fashion will share the interesting and often amusing stories behind them.

Three of Gringo Stew's now defunct line-up, lead guitarist Frank Scialdone, pedal steel guitarist Daniel Morris and bassist/vocalist John McElwain will back Clayton for the evening. They'll be joined by special guest, popular local performer Jimi Vincent.

Showtime is 8:00pm this Thursday August 6, 2020. The show is free, open to the public and family friendly.
