Cabinet Pull Workshop

Saturdays. March 6, 13, 20 27 | April 3

10:30 am-11:30 am

Watch glass transform from molten to solid before your eyes! As you learn to gather and shape this material you will be participating in a craft that has been around for over 2000 years. There have been advances; we will be using some of those same ancient techniques.

Join us in the Mansfield Art Center’s glass studio for a hands on, socially distant glass working experience. In this two part class, students will first create a set of 2 unique solid glass shapes. You will learn how to safely gather 2120°F molten glass, add color and use the basic glass working tools. After finishing your glass pieces they will need to anneal (slowly cool to room temperature).

Once your glass is annealed, you will come back in to learn how to cold work (the process of grinding, flattening and polishing glass) a flat spot onto your newly created glass cabinet pull. From here you will epoxy the cabinet-pull hardware to your glass object.

Your first session: Creating the glass objects Your work will stay at the MAC and anneal until the second session which will set up with your instructor.

You will be able to schedule your second session at our first class to meet the needs of your schedule. (There will be both weekday and weekend options).

Workshop Cost is $38 for both sessions

Additional two cabinet pulls for $18
