Nationally known Country Music band Lonestar thrilled a crowd of around one thousand fans Friday night January 14th at Mansfield's Renaissance Theatre. The band, which has already sent 10 singles to the number one spot on Billboard magazine's Country Chart, played those hits and more with new lead singer Drew Womack. Womack, one time member of Sons of the Desert, joined back in March following the departure of Richie McDonald who left the group for the second time. Womack was spot-on delivering "Mr. Mom", "I'm Already There", "My Front Porch Looking in", "What About Now" and others from the Lonestar catalogue that saw the band collect 20 top ten hits. One of their biggest hits , a cover, "Walking In Memphis" closed the main portion of the show. The band's biggest hit, and fan favorite, "Amazed" lead off the encore only to be followed by a rock-n-roll medley that included classics by AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith and more. A highlight of the night saw Drew Womack take the stage alone to sing "I Hope You Dance" which was a hit by Lee Ann Womack (no relation) and feature Drew Womack's previous band "Sons of the Desert" on background vocals. In addition to Womack, Lonestar is made up of Dean Sams (keyboards , guitar) Michael Britt (lead guitar), and Keech Rainwater (drums). Local artist Dan Devault (& Friends) opened the show.
