Is it alright for fans of rival sports teams to break out in fisticuffs? According to a new survey, 43% of sports fans think it’s acceptable. I've witnessed this at Cleveland Browns Games, normally on Bengals or Steelers weekends and more often than not the fight is in the parking lot. Of course, not all fans are created equal here. Fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs in hockey, the Brooklyn Nets in basketball, the Arizona Diamondbacks in baseball and the Arizona Cardinals in football seem more likely to brawl than other fans. I've heard Chicago Bears fans can be quite inhospitable to visiting fans and fans of the Steelers and Ravens take nasty to a new level. But we've been in Toronto for a Blue Jays vs Indians game, and in Chicago to watch The White Sox host The Indians and we've been treated very nicely. I can honestly say I've never had to fight with an opposing fan but I have lost an argument or two. It usually ends when they point out how many Super Bowls there team has one, versus The Cleveland Browns that won zero.
