Ashland County's "Stuff The Bus" Campaign Is Underway

You're invited to help "Stuff The Bus" with school supplies to help less fortunate families in Ashland County provide the school supplies their school-aged children need to start the new year. The campaign, run by Associated Charities of Ashland County, A United Way of Ashland County Agency, is now in its fifteenth year.

While you are out shopping and stocking up on school supplies for your own children, pick up some extras (from the list below) and drop them off at the "Stuff The Bus" collection event August 6th & 7th at the Ashland Walmart parking lot from 9am to 3pm each day*. All donated school supplies will be taken to Associated Charities to be sorted the distributed to Pre-K to 12th grade students at the Ashland County "Back-2-School" Celebration August 15th on Mainstreet in Downtown Ashland from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. Free bookbags will be given out with supplies. Free haircuts for students will be available.

The list of most needed school supplies includes:

Scissors (pointed and round)

#2 Pencils, Colored Pencils, Pencil boxes

Large pink eraser

Index cards

Markers, Dry erase markers

Red & Black Pens

Highlighters

Glue bottles, glue sticks

Composition books, spiral bound notebooks (one and three subject, wide or college ruled), binders

Box of 24 Crayons

*If you cannot make it to "Stuff The Bus" at Walmart August 6th or 7th, donated items can be dropped of at Associated Charities at 240 Cleveland Avenue in Ashland. Cash or check donations can be mailed or delivered to: United Way of Ashland County at 32 West South Street in Ashland.
