International Women's Day: Fantastic, Fierce & Funny Females On Film

On this International Women's Day I'm inspired to put together a list of my favorite women of television and movies. No such list would be complete without the star of Law & Order SVU for over 20 years Mariska Hargitay. Without Olivia Benson, I'm sorry, Captain Olivia Benson, this show would have faded away years ago.

As FBI Agent Clarice Starling, Jodie Foster dispatched of serial killer Buffalo Bill as well as proving to be a formidable foe to Anthony Hopkin's Hannibal Lector in 'Silence of the Lambs' . She's made many other great films ('Panic Room', 'Contact', 'The Accused', 'Nell' and her breakout role in 'Taxi Driver') but SOTL has stuck with me for over 30 years.

The women of The Big Bang Theory are extraordinary. The show is so well written and acted. The same can be said for the women of 'FRIENDS'.
