You better wash those makeup brushes … A new study found that your makeup brushes are dirtier than a toilet seat. The study, by cosmetic brand Spectrum Collections, found that no matter where the brushes were stored, the amount of bacteria on them was equal to or more than the toilet seat. Using dirty brushes could even lead to serious issues – one woman recently reported that she got ringworm from using unclean makeup brushes. Ideally, you should be cleaning your brushes with a gentle shampoo or brush-specific cleaner once every seven to 10 days.
