Belt it out Do you sing in the car, in the shower, in a choir, at karaoke? Then you are probably happier, healthier, and less stressed. A study found that singing – particularly singing with others, like in a band, choir, or chorus -- is good for your mental and physical health.

I admit that I sing behind the wheel more so on a lonely country road or freeway than I do on a city or residential street. That's for a couple of reasons. One, I'm not very good (although roadside farm animal might not agree) and I hate getting caught by a nearby motorist. If we make eye contact, I'm just too embarrassed to continue and I revert to just a little dashboard drumming. I'll sing in the shower but mostly if there is no one else in the house. I was never brave enough for choir and I'm not permitted to sing Karaoke. (My wife will explain) - Matt Appleby
