Oktoberfest ended its three-week run on Tuesday -- and some number-crunchers in Munich are getting a sense of just how successful the festival was this year.
A record-breaking 7.2 million visitors showed up. The last time there were more than 7 million visitors was way back in 1985.
But while there were a lot of people goofing off at Oktoberfest, they seemed to have been drinking less beer.
"Only" 6.5 million liters of beer were served -- down from 7.3 million liters served before the pandemic in 2019.
Visitors were drinking more non-alcoholic beverages than ever, including water.
And, it seems people were behaving as first responders in Munich described the bash as "peaceful."
