In Shelby, the school board has hired a new district treasurer.
Madison Ratliff was approved by the board of education on Monday, March 10th, and will officially take over the role on August 1st.
Ratliff has spent the last 4 years as the assistant treasurer for the Olentangy Schools in Delaware County, near Columbus.
Shelby School Board President, Scott Rose, likes Ratliff’s experience and his excitement to get involved locally in the community. Madison Ratliff has a local tie to Shelby, as his wife is a 1997 Whippet graduate.
A total of 7 people applied for the position. Current treasurer, Beth Lykins, spent 5 years in the role in Shelby, and is taking the same job in her home town with the Willard school district.
