The Mansfield Senior boys basketball team claimed a share of the Ohio Cardinal Conference Championship on Friday with a win, 69-61, at crosstown rival Madison.
The TYgers had 4 players score in double figures with Kaylen Brooks leading the way with 23 points, Davion Mack added 13 off the bench, while DJ Corbin and D'Vontae Johnson chipped in 12 points each.
Senior High had to come from behind in the 4th quarter to secure the win, as DJ Corbin had a huge series, where he made a 3-pointer, then had a steal and 3-point play. That 6 point swing gave Senior High the lead, which they would never give up.
Mansfield Senior made 23/27 at the free thrown line, forced 21 Madison turnovers into 26 points.
The TYgers (15-7, 10-4) are part of a 4-way tie for the OCC Championship with Ashland, Dover and New Philadelphia.
Madison (7-12) was led in scoring by senior, Justin McCraney, who had a career high 33 points on 13/23 shooting and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
