Mansfield Senior won their 1st district championship in 12 years on Saturday night, 64-61, over Lima Shawnee at Ontario High School.
The TYgers got a combined 37 points from Kaylen Brooks (21) and Andrew Brooks (16) to win their first district crown since 2014.
Senior High had a 21-16 lead after the 1st quarter, but Shawnee took a 2 point lead into halftime at 34-32. DJ Corbin, who had 7 points and 5 rebounds, drilled a 3-pointer at the horn sounded into the half, which cut a 5 point deficit to only 2.
Senior High took control in the 3rd quarter by out scoring Shawnee, 15-8, to take a 47 - 42 lead into the 4th quarter.
Lima Shawnee was able to outscore Mansfield Senior by 2 in the 4th, but the TYgers were able to make plays down the stretch to secure the win.
Davion Mack played well off the bench with 10 points to given the TYgers a 3rd player in double figures.
Mansfield Senior (18-7) will now play Alliance in the Division III Regional Semi-Final on Wednesday night at the University of Toledo at 8 p.m.
