Tim McGraw said he’s “not sure it’s really sunk in yet,” that he’ll be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame this fall.

Hall of Fame member Marty Stuart revealed the Class of 2026 in a live-streamed announcement on Friday morning (March 20), hosted in the Hall of Fame’s Rotunda in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. McGraw will be inducted alongside The Stanley Brothers and Paul Overstreet during the Medallion Ceremony in October. The date has not been announced as of publication time.

“Friday was a pretty special day,” McGraw reflected in a post on Instagram on Monday afternoon (March 23). “I’m not sure it’s really sunk in yet, but I’ve been blown away by all the messages from friends, family, fans and other artists. Thank you all and a huge thank you to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Can’t wait for October!”

McGraw held back tears as he spoke at the announcement event on Friday. He reflected on his journey from Louisiana to Tennessee to pursue his career as a country artist, and his journey from his first day in Nashville to the Hall of Fame. He said it’s “impossible for me to believe,” he’ll be “surrounded by all of these legends and a lot of my friends,” in the Country Music Hall of Fame. McGraw also spotlighted the “great women in my life,” including his grandmother, his mother, his sisters, his daughters, “and most of all my wife [fellow country icon Faith Hill]. Thank you, baby. …I can’t wait for the day that I’m sitting there and you’re standing here,” becoming a Hall of Fame inductee herself. McGraw married Hill in 1996, and they share three daughters: Gracie McGraw, 28, Maggie McGraw, 27, and Audrey McGraw, 24. Audrey took the stage on Friday evening in Las Vegas, Nevada, and said she’s “so, so proud of my dad. Both of my parents. I love them so much.”
