When it comes to movies, are there no longer any fresh Ideas? Heck we just recently had another installment of the second Planet of the Apes saga come and go. Keep your stinking paws off my movie! What possesses Hollywood to force new versions of old favorites on us year after year? One thought is technology is giving film makers new and better ways to tell the same story. A fresh look for a new generation, perhaps. Maybe the first time around the version of a movie, to some, was a stinker so someone feels compelled to try again. It simply could be greed. "It made money the first time, let's re-do it and cash in again!" Whatever the reasoning passionate movie fans have drawn a line in he sand and REDDIT has compiled a "Hands Off" list. - Matt Appleby
What movie should NEVER get a remake? (Reddit)
Some responses:
- The Princess Bride. The casting, the acting and the dialogue was superb, and NOTHING would be gained by a remake.
- The Shawshank Redemption. Perfect movie. Don't touch it.
- The Godfather. Some things are sacred.
- Blazing Saddles
- Die Hard. It's perfect. Doesn't need to be modernized.
- Pulp Fiction is iconic and any remake would just fall flat in comparison.
- Titanic. I don't want to see a CGI iceberg ruining the iconic handprint scene.
- Jaws
- Back to the Future
- The Notebook
- Home Alone
