Maddie Font is pregnant with Baby No. 2!

The solo artist, who launched her career as Maddie & Tae with duo partner Taylor Kerr, announced on Wednesday (September 16) that she’s expecting her second child. Font, 31, laughed as she revealed to PEOPLE: “I’m going to be popping out a baby and popping out my first solo record. I guess I’m just trying to do all the things.”

Font and her husband, Jonah Font, will welcome a baby girl into the family, she confirmed. The country star met her husband in high school, and said “I do” in November 2019 in Arrington, Tennessee. Font previously told PEOPLE that it’s “funny to think [back] to being 15-year-old kids in love and to see how our love has grown over the years. Getting married was always a goal of ours, and this year just felt right.” The Fonts welcomed Baby No. 1, son Forrest Henry Font, on September 9, 2023. He was born at 4:03 p.m., weighing 7 lbs, 10 oz. Font said at the time, “Forrest is everything Jonah and I could’ve ever dreamed of… We are so in love 🤍"

Font and Kerr announced in December 2025 that they would part ways after 15 years as a duo. The pair declined to refer to their decision as a “breakup,” explaining that they would remain close friends as Kerr takes a break to focus on her family. Kerr and her husband, Josh Kerr, welcomed daughter Leighton Grace Kerr in January 2022. Son Chapel Shields Kerr followed in October 2024.

Kerr was the second person to learn about Font’s pregnancy with Baby No. 2, the “Drive Me Around” singer-songwriter confirmed to PEOPLE: “She was the second to know, because she happened to come over with her kids for a play date the day I found out. I just gave her this look, and she looked at me, and she’s like, ‘You’re pregnant.’ I was like, ‘Huh? I didn’t even say anything,’ and she was like, ‘I just know.’ It’s that soul sister connection, I guess.” Font even has some of Leighton Grace’s old clothes set aside for her daughter.

Font also revealed to PEOPLE that she and her husband experienced a pregnancy loss earlier this year, “which was rally hard.” She pledged to move forward with her music as she wrapped her mind around the loss, and months later, learned that she was pregnant again — this time, with a baby girl. Font expressed her happiness for her growing family (Forrest is “so excited” to meet his little sister). She shared, “I’ve had this dream on my heart to have a lot of kids, and I know God did not put that dream for no reason. So, whether I birth them or however it goes, I’m going to have a lot of babies.”

Font shared on her Instagram story, “we will be driving around with two car seats in the back real soon. Baby girl Font is due early 2027. We can’t wait to meet this sweet girl and watch our precious Forrest become a big brother.”
